An alternative to LFR - A poll and a discussion

Hey there, probably first post here.
I was thinking about the LFR feature and how it allows people to experience the story.
I was also thinking that the game has taken a character-centric approach in the past expansions meaning that the player character is now considered a hero of the horde/alliance(and how couldn't he, judging by his possible past achievments in the world) up to them having artifact weapons in Legion.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
