Standing out of the red, and still getting hit

Dying a meter to the left of a boss cause you get hit by his 1 foot wide frontal attack when you're meters away is very annoying
This will likely prevent me from staying in the long term..
Anyone else copping this issue day in, day out?

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
