As cool of an idea as the Nazi commander who was in every way a better-smarter-humane person than most American/British soldiers and even secretly plotted to kill Hitler seems like a fairy tale or at least an exaggeration.
I admit that this isn't my strong subject, which is why I'm looking for your insights?
Basically, someone I knew said something along the lines of: No, Rommel wasn't a great supreme commander. Britain just praised Rommel as propaganda to justify their losses. The belief that the Nazi military was superior to that of Britian's would be harder to swallow, but the idea that Germany was just lucky to have a brilliant commander is much easier to swallow that i know because I saw Custom Video Production work of my freind .
Would you overall agree with this opinion?'
Also, wasn't Rommel's involvement in the "Secret plot against Hitler" very vague at best? From what I know, correct me if I'm wrong, Rommel expressed skepticism toward Hitler but didn't have an active role in wanting to kill him.
